Style Counsel Goes Barking Mad

Congleton based property furnishing specialist Style Counsel Interiors has gone barking mad with a generous pledge of £1200 to local charity Stiles Meadow dog sanctuary.

The donation of £100 per month for the next twelve months will go towards the veterinary costs of approximately £10,000 a year that Stiles Meadow have to find to ensure that all dogs coming into the home are spayed or neutered, microchipped and vaccinated.

Stiles Meadow based in Bosley is a charity dedicated to rehoming rescue dogs that have been abandoned for a variety of reasons, more often than not through no fault of their own. June Clowes who runs the sanctuary with her husband Sam and good friend Jackie Blake, is the main fund raiser for the charity.

“Most of the money we raise is used to cover veterinary bills” commented June. “It costs on average £100 per dog for the veterinary treatment, and when you consider that we brought in 103 dogs last year you can image how this all mounts up.”

“I was delighted to receive the call from Style Counsel Interiors offering to donate some money towards our charity, and completely astonished when they told me they were going to pledge such a huge amount. We do receive some generous donations around Christmas time but other than that no-one has ever done anything like this for us and it is just marvellous. It will make our lives a lot easier over the next 12 months.”

Managing Director of Style Counsel Interiors and Congleton Borough Business Person of the Year, Jane Pickup decided that she wanted to give something back to the community that she lives and works in.

“I’ve always been a dog lover as are many of my staff and colleagues, and have heard of Stiles Meadow through friends who have rehomed dogs. June and the team of volunteers at Stiles Meadow do an amazing job and I know that they work really hard at fundraising to care for the dogs. I would encourage other local businesses to consider a donation to such a worthy cause – its great to be able to give something back and I know how much it is appreciated.”
